Things to do in Bihac
Bihac sits on the Una in Bosnia and Herzegovina's north-west, close enough to Zagreb or Split that most visitors arrive from Croatia rather than from Sarajevo, which is roughly 300 km and 4 h 30 away by road and not a realistic day trip from the capital.
The old town centres on the Fethija, a former Church of St Anthony converted into a mosque, a short walk from the Una itself, where locals swim from the town beaches once the weather turns in late spring.
Bihac works best as a base rather than a destination: rafting operators, guides and rooms for the Una National Park cluster here, with the park's showpiece waterfalls at Strbacki buk and Martin Brod each a separate onward trip south of town.
