Things to do on Trebevic

Trebevic rises directly above Sarajevo, its cable car landing at 1,164 m after a nine-minute ride from Bistrik station (return around 20 KM). Above the upper station sits the 1984 Winter Olympics bobsleigh and luge track, abandoned since the war, its concrete chute now layered in graffiti and reached freely on foot.

Between 1992 and 1996 the mountain served as a Bosnian Serb Army position overlooking the besieged city below; walking routes here still run only on marked paths, since unexploded mines remain outside them. On clear days the view stretches over the Miljacka valley 500 m down to Bascarsija's rooftops.

A handful of restaurants near the upper station serve grilled meat and trout, and marked trails continue toward Jahorina, roughly 30 km further southeast.
