Things to do in Jablanica
Jablanica sits on the road to Mostar, roughly 75 km and a good hour from Sarajevo, and it earns its stop for two reasons rather than for the lake. The Battle of the Neretva Museum, on the shore, displays the wreckage of the railway bridge blown up in 1943 to block German forces, and the visit takes 30-45 minutes, not a full morning.
The other reason is lunch: roadside restaurants along the lake grill janjetina, spit-roasted lamb, for around 15-20 KM a plate, and it is the town's real draw. Jablanica Lake itself is a hydroelectric reservoir behind a dam, useful as a short break between Konjic and Mostar rather than a destination to linger at.
Treat it as a museum-and-lunch stop on the way south, not a lakeside day out.
