Things to do at Boracko Lake

Boracko Lake sits about 10 km south of Konjic at the foot of Mount Prenj, a glacial lake at a modest altitude of around 400 m.

It is a swimming and sitting-still spot rather than a sight to tick off: a handful of fish restaurants along the shore, rowing boats for hire, and no reliable public transport, so you need a car or a taxi for the roughly fifteen-minute drive from Konjic.

It is not a dramatic alpine lake in the Prenj sense, and anyone expecting sheer rock walls or turquoise water will be disappointed. What it offers is a quiet afternoon, cheap fried trout, and a lake that fills up with families from Sarajevo and Mostar at weekends. On weekdays outside July and August, it can be nearly empty.
