Things to do in Jahorina

Jahorina hosted the women's alpine skiing events at the 1984 Winter Olympics, and its slopes above Ogorjelica, at 1,916 m, remain the largest ski area in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It sits 30 km and about 45 minutes from Sarajevo, on the Republika Srpska side of the city, where road signs switch to Cyrillic and car plates change format at the boundary.

Lift infrastructure and piste grooming are noticeably more developed than at Bjelasnica, which matters if you are choosing between the two for a day trip. A day lift pass typically runs somewhere in the 50-70 KM range depending on season, though the posted price at the ticket office is the one to trust.

Outside winter, the same lifts and marked trails serve hikers and mountain bikers, so the mountain is not purely a snow-season destination.
