Things to do at Vrelo Bosne

5 km avenue from Ilidza lined with plane trees that keeps the walk shaded even in July and August. Go on foot, by bike, or by horse-drawn fiacre; the return loop from the avenue's start to the springs and back takes roughly 1 hour 30 minutes at an easy pace.

Inside the park itself, wooden footbridges cross a network of clear pools fed by one of the strongest karst springs in Europe, rising at the foot of Mount Igman, with resident swans drifting between them.

Entry is a small fee, bike hire and fiacre rides are available on site, and weekends from spring to autumn bring heavy crowds, so a weekday morning is the quieter option.
